  • My sister working on project required on her course, the project is to choose an important landmarks in our country to speak about it and why its consider important.

  • So she asked me if I can help and visit the landmark with her, I agreed directly “but what the place you choose, you didn’t told me yet” I asked, ” I chosen Etihad Museum” Mariam answered. It wasn’t my first time to hear about Etihad Museum, actually I heard about it just few months before from a colleague on clinic, who wonder that am not yet visited this place. “My mother in law coming in few days and shy know nothing abut UAE and Etihad Museum is an essential destination for any visitor in my opinion” he said after describing ingeniously his first visit. “wow why choose this place particularly?” my question, “cause I want a place no one choosen and a special landmark” her answer.

  • So we schedualed our visit trip date, not on weekend and not in tourist rush time. on our promised date Sara our younger sister add a sparkle by joining our trip. We reached to Etihad Museum in Dubai at 12:15Pm and from the beginning the design of the place charm our eyes and gave us the kickstart charge. After purchasing the tickets (the Museum have a special price for students) from front disk where we find two local female employees who welcome us by friendly professional way and gave us a fast guide of Museum parts and tours timing.

  • Our first stop was in front of Quote said by Late Shiekh Zayed Bin Sultan “This secretariat is a heavy burden and I only can carry it by god willing and help from all my brothers officials and citizens, so join your hands and hearts and fill with me your feelings and your sincerity, to build the future of our country and the pride of our people“. the feeling that comes while reading this words and how its means to everyone of us like a empty battery got sudden electric charges.

  • Museum Library was our first station (we discovered later is shouldn’t be) and that may back to our family “a books & libraries lovers family”. We met there an extraordinary librarian who was so excited cause we are first people joined her that day, I guess we spent an hour chasing with her a chat isolate us from time feeling pass like just few mints.

  • I will be honest am as an Emirati I discovered that what I didn’t know or aware of my country history is more than I think, our culture, who affect in our lifestyle and our believes, civilizations lived before us and how we relate to them, each emirate of our 7 emirates history and there rolers in different decades. Lots of unforgettable stations we enjoyed and loved that I can’t bring in just one article about this remarkable landmark “Etihad Museum” which remind us of our history and connect it to our present. Rounding with my sister was a key factor cause everyone of us is from different generation and different study period, and that make our dissections is fun and joyful and shows the affect of curriculums and its evolution through the years.

  • In the end I say “Be proud of your last and its resources, keep its positives and get rid of its disadvantages… don’t be ashamed of a period that formed the aspects of our identity and culture. Yes that’s how we were and here we are today and that’s what we’re looking forward to tomorrow“.
